Family-Owned for Generations, With a Flair for Fashion
Heard of Laurence Lafont yet? Well, there’s a couple of ways that you might have, and by this point, we’re pretty surprised when those interested in design of all stripes haven’t yet heard of this design dynamo.
Born in Paris, Lafont creates design miracles for the home, from bed linens to carpeting, and so much more. With collections ranging from china to glassware, Lafont’s designs hit the Asian market carrying the banner of ELLE magazine along with them.
But that’s not all, folks!
She’s also the frame designer for Lafont, a French manufacturer of high-end eyewear that Beaumont Vision in Portland, OR is beyond pleased to carry. Beginning with a small but powerful collection, the first frame designs that Lafont brough tto market sold so stunningly well that opticians all over her native France stormed the phone lines, trying to buy the frames for their stores.
How the Lafont Collection Came Into Being
So after only allowing a few stores to carry the line, after 1979, the couple made the bold decision to go full-on into the eyewear design business, and created a collection that would be available for distribution throughout all of Paris.
Today, Lafont eyewear is distributed all over Europe, as well as North America, Australia and Asia. And beyond that, Lafont can boast that as much as 65 percent of its eyewear is sold to markets outside of France.
