- Pros: Expert, professional, and trustworthy optometry service; Helpful and knowledgeable opticians; Friendly administrative/reception staff; Quality frames and lenses; Socially responsible
Cons: Could provide better glasses fitting service
Optometry: My wife and I have been going to see Dr. Lewis for 12 years and we have had nothing but positive experiences. Dr. Lewis is knowledgeable, experienced, and trustworthy. He's also a great communicator. He explains what's going on with your eyes in plain English and is always willing to answer any questions you might have. We've also seen Dr. Pajot on different occasions and she is also very competent, knowledgeable, and friendly. She was especially helpful explaining color blindness to my young son.
Optician Services: The frames are a bit on the expensive side, but I've learned that it's because they don't source frames from the Luxottica conglomerate. This is why I included "socially responsible" above. They're opticians have educated me on this (see: youtube.com/watch?v=gDdq…). They also use high quality lens manufacturers like Zeiss, which is especially important if you have a difficult prescription. The opticians here are very helpful in breaking down the costs of lens features and what insurance will cover. I've also never felt pressured to add on lens features that I didn't want to pay for. The ONLY issue I've had is with getting my glasses fitted for comfort and have gone elsewhere to get my frames adjusted when needed. That said, you will be properly measured to ensure that the lens is set up in the frame properly in relation to your eye.
Administration/Reception: The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Scheduling appointments has never been an issue. I always get reminders via post card and my appointments are confirmed by phone. I receive the confirmations in time to cancel or reschedule the appointment if needed (they have a 24 hour cancellation policy like most places). They have also been very helpful and accommodating in getting summary statements for HSA/FSA.

- I have been coming to them for at least 10 years, and for good reasons. My insurance covers eye exams, as many do. Why not get the most thorough and professional exam possible? Drs. Lewis and Pajot have been so helpful and careful to tailor my exams to make sure I am not having damage to my eyes from my other health problems. Their glasses selection is quite unique, and their frames never fail to draw compliments. I cannot choose frames to save my life, but with their help, I find frames that improve my bland looks! Dr. Lewis is top-notch. Not only is he quick and efficient in his work, he's also patient and willing to answer any questions you may have. During my recent eye exam, he discovered my overall eye health to be deteriorating due to the over use of contacts on my part. He prescribed a simple over the counter eye drop to take twice a day, and after a few short weeks the itchiness and irritation I had been living with for nearly a year, started to go away! On top of that, after receiving my initial set of glasses, I was experiencing some trouble seeing clearly through them. Distant objects were fuzzy, and I had this weird warping around the edges of my vision. The staff offered to retest my prescription free of charge to ensure no mistakes were made. There weren't any mistakes--what I was experiencing was an adjustment period, due to the fact that I had mainly been wearing contacts for the past few years. Dr. Lewis also explained how it may take a week or two to get used to the minor astigmatism adjustment that was new to my prescription. Sure enough, a few weeks later, the warping around the edges disappeared, and distant objects started coming into focus. Their warm reception to the issues I was experiencing made a lasting impression. I won't think twice of where to go for future check-ups. I highly recommend Beaumont Vision to anyone that's looking to be treated cordially and with respect.read moreread lessNathan C.
- I've been going here too long to not write a review for this place. Dr. Lewis has been and is currently helping me through glaucoma. I'm right on that edge of medication or not for this disease. Because I'm on the younger side for the average glaucoma patient, he is attacking it in every way possible. When one medication doesn't work or causes an allergic reaction, he is right there holding my hand through the process. Dr. Lewis is super easy to talk to. He spends time with his patients and makes them feel comfortable with the decisions he is making. The people he uses up front for insurance and glasses are also right on point.
