Optometry: My wife and I have been going to see Dr. Lewis for 12 years and we have had nothing but positive experiences. Dr. Lewis is knowledgeable, experienced, and trustworthy. He's also a great communicator. He explains what's going on with your eyes in plain English and is always willing to answer any questions you might have. We've also seen Dr. Pajot on different occasions and she is also very competent, knowledgeable, and friendly. She was especially helpful explaining color blindness to my young son.
Optician Services: The frames are a bit on the expensive side, but I've learned that it's because they don't source frames from the Luxottica conglomerate. This is why I included "socially responsible" above. They're opticians have educated me on this (see: youtube.com/watch?v=gDdq…). They also use high quality lens manufacturers like Zeiss, which is especially important if you have a difficult prescription. The opticians here are very helpful in breaking down the costs of lens features and what insurance will cover. I've also never felt pressured to add on lens features that I didn't want to pay for. The ONLY issue I've had is with getting my glasses fitted for comfort and have gone elsewhere to get my frames adjusted when needed. That said, you will be properly measured to ensure that the lens is set up in the frame properly in relation to your eye.
Administration/Reception: The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Scheduling appointments has never been an issue. I always get reminders via post card and my appointments are confirmed by phone. I receive the confirmations in time to cancel or reschedule the appointment if needed (they have a 24 hour cancellation policy like most places). They have also been very helpful and accommodating in getting summary statements for HSA/FSA.

During my recent eye exam, he discovered my overall eye health to be deteriorating due to the over use of contacts on my part. He prescribed a simple over the counter eye drop to take twice a day, and after a few short weeks the itchiness and irritation I had been living with for nearly a year, started to go away! On top of that, after receiving my initial set of glasses, I was experiencing some trouble seeing clearly through them. Distant objects were fuzzy, and I had this weird warping around the edges of my vision. The staff offered to retest my prescription free of charge to ensure no mistakes were made. There weren't any mistakes--what I was experiencing was an adjustment period, due to the fact that I had mainly been wearing contacts for the past few years. Dr. Lewis also explained how it may take a week or two to get used to the minor astigmatism adjustment that was new to my prescription. Sure enough, a few weeks later, the warping around the edges disappeared, and distant objects started coming into focus. John R. Lewis, O.D.
Optometric Physician
Dr. Lewis received his Doctorate in Optometry from Indiana University in 1996. After graduation, he performed his hospital-based residency training in New York City.
He began his career as an associate in a multi-doctor ophthalmology practice on the upper east side of Manhattan. This practice specialized in advanced medical cases, and was among the highest volume private LASIK practices in New York.
Dr. Lewis continued to live and work in Manhattan for several years before relocating to Portland, where he accepted a position with Pacific University’s Optometry School as a Clinical Professor. He has been a clinical professor at Pacific University for 10 years and takes pride in his own private practice, Beaumont Vision.
Dr. Lewis provides comprehensive eye exams, contact lens evaluations and medical eye care for his patients, including surgical co-management for LASIK and other medical procedures.
Dr. Sarah Pajot, O.D.
Optometric Physician
Dr. Sarah Pajot completed her undergraduate education at UCLA and attended University of California Berkeley School of Optometry, where she graduated in 2008.
She later did her Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
Dr. Pajot specializes in hard to fit contact lenses, including corneal reshaping, keratoconus, and post-surgical, but enjoys all contact lens fittings.
Dr. Pajot is also currently a clinical professor at Pacific University.
She spent her childhood and young adult life in Michigan and California and has been practicing at Beaumont Vision since 2011.
Dr. Lindsey Rosencrans
Dr. Lindsey Rosencrans is passionate about helping patients of all ages achieve and maintain healthy vision. She believes that educating patients about their eye health is an important part of every visit and enjoys providing personalized care, whether you need a new glasses prescription, contact lenses, dry eye treatment, or ongoing management of an eye condition. Dr. Rosencrans’ specialties include pediatric eye exams, dry eye care, and ocular disease.
Originally from Vermont, Dr. Rosencrans has called the Pacific Northwest home since 2010. Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, camping, yoga, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and two young sons.
Dr. Rosencrans earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry, where she also completed a Master of Science in Vision Science. She went on to complete a residency in primary eye care and ocular disease at the Portland VA Medical Center.

Shenyah has been with Beaumont Vision since 2007 and has been working in the optical industry since 1995. She studied Fine Art and Industrial Design in Detroit prior to traveling and exploring the States. In 2007, she landed in Portland with her husband and son.
Her studies and optical experience have enhanced both her artistic eye in frame selections and her technical aptitude with lens technology and optics.
Shenyah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, tending to her many plants, playing music, painting, and snuggling her pup.

Amy has been with Beaumont Vision since 2012, when she moved to Portland from LA. She first began her Beaumont Vision career at the reception desk and soon learned the ins and outs of optics, moving into an optician position in 2015. With wearing the many hats of a small practice, she is well-versed in interpreting your benefits, as well as fitting you with the perfect frame and lenses.

Margot joined the Beaumont Vision team in 2017. She began her optical career in Minnesota, where she was born and raised. Since moving to Portland in ‘98, she’s remained in the industry and earned ABO certification, giving her expertise in the most up-to-date lens technologies.
In her off-time, she works at Xtabay Vintage Clothing Boutique, where she’s been since 2009. Her passion for vintage clothing and fashion carries over into her frame select skills – finding the perfect frame to suit each individual’s style and needs.
When not in her work world, she loves attending concerts with her partner, chilling at home listening to music, and watching absurd shows. Her four furballs keep her entertained as well.

Myopia Management
Our specialized Myopia Management Program uses proven, evidence-based approaches to help slow the progression of nearsightedness in children and young adults. We develop personalized treatment plans that may include specialty spectacle lenses, specialty soft contact lenses, orthokeratology (Ortho-K), multifocal lenses, low-dose atropine therapy, and lifestyle recommendations—all aimed at preserving long-term eye health and lowering the risk of high myopia-related complications.
Dry Eye Management
We provide advanced in-office treatments such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Radiofrequency (RF) therapies to address underlying gland dysfunction.
