Founded in 2009, Eco Eyewear is the one of the first sustainable eyewear brands, using 95% recycled materials for their frames. Their eco-conscious collection is crafted from recycled metals, biobased materials (like castor seed oil), and recycled ocean plastic. Eco’s aim is for not only carbon-free production but for carbon-negative production with over 3.8 million trees planted through their ‘One Frame, One Tree Program.’

With Shwood’s line of attractive wooden eyeglass frames, you get sustainable, unique and stylish frames, hand-crafted right here in Portland, Oregon.

The first pair of frames Shwood crafted were “born from the limb of a Madrone tree, a rusty pair of cabinet hinges, and lenses from the corner store.” The frames you purchase from Shwood now are a long way from those first rusty hinges, but they still feature that perfect balance of rustic and chic. Maui Jim got its start in 1980 as a small company selling sunglasses on Ka’anapali beach in Lahaina, Maui.

Maui Jim’s home office is still located in Lahaina, Maui, and they still design and test all of their sunglasses there.

For more than 40 years, the people at ProDesign have created beautiful eyewear with a clean-cut Scandinavian feel. Drawing on their Danish heritage, they create ‘face-friendly’ eyewear with a close-knit relationship between functionality and visual expression. Prodesign frames make you feel as good as you look.

ProDesign’s creative team are all Aarhus School of Architecture graduates who take a playful yet reflective approach to their designs. Like true architects, they continuously explore the possibilities of eyewear design by rethinking form and function, challenging industry standards and making innovative solutions.

Color! That’s the first thing that will catch your eye about Etnia Barcelona’s frames. They’re simply beautiful, and they’re sure to get plenty of compliments whenever you wear them.

But there’s more to this line than its attention-grabbing design. Etnia takes quality very seriously. The company makes its own acetate from pulverized cotton and ages it for 12 weeks before cutting it into frames and temples.
