Our Team

John R. Lewis, O.D.

John R. Lewis, O.D.

Optometric Physician

Dr. Lewis received his Doctorate in Optometry from Indiana University in 1996. After graduation, he performed his hospital-based residency training in New York City.

He began his career as an associate in a multi-doctor ophthalmology practice on the upper east side of Manhattan.  This practice specialized in advanced medical cases, and was among the highest volume private LASIK practices in New York.

Dr. Lewis continued to live and work in Manhattan for several years before relocating to Portland, where he accepted a position with Pacific University’s Optometry School as a Clinical Professor. He has been a clinical professor at Pacific University for 10 years and takes pride in his own private practice, Beaumont Vision.

Dr. Lewis provides comprehensive eye exams, contact lens evaluations and medical eye care for his patients, including surgical co-management for LASIK and other medical procedures.

Shwood

Portland, Oregon

With Shwood’s line of attractive wooden eyeglass frames, you get sustainable, unique and stylish frames, hand-crafted right here in Portland, Oregon.

The first pair of frames Shwood crafted were “born from the limb of a Madrone tree, a rusty pair of cabinet hinges, and lenses from the corner store.” The frames you purchase from Shwood now are a long way from those first rusty hinges, but they still feature that perfect balance of rustic and chic. Etnia

Etnia

Barcelona, Spain

Color! That’s the first thing that will catch your eye about Etnia Barcelona’s frames. They’re simply beautiful, and they’re sure to get plenty of compliments whenever you wear them.

But there’s more to this line than its attention-grabbing design. Etnia takes quality very seriously. The company makes its own acetate from pulverized cotton and ages it for 12 weeks before cutting it into frames and temples.

Established in 2003, this independent company has become a favorite of trendsetters who live life out loud but refuse to compromise function for form. Learn more.

Visual field testing allows our doctors to check your visual system for blind spots.
